Media Zum (“Media Zum,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mediazum.com and through our software development and consulting work, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you, deliver services, and keep the site reliable.
Information you send us
If you use the contact form, or email us, we receive the details you choose to provide. The form asks for:
- your name;
- your email address;
- a project description; and
- a budget range.
If we work together, we may also receive business contact details, project files, credentials you choose to share for the engagement, and billing information needed to invoice you. Please do not send passwords or secrets through the public contact form.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. Those logs can include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, the date and time of the request, and the page you requested. We use logs to keep the site secure, diagnose errors, and understand which pages are used.
Analytics
We do not run third-party advertising analytics, and we do not drop advertising cookies. The only measurement we rely on today is the server logs described above, which give us aggregate and security information about traffic. If we later add a product analytics tool, we will update this policy before that tool collects data, and we will describe what it collects and how to opt out.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- reply to inquiries and prepare proposals;
- perform software development, design, and consulting services;
- invoice, keep ordinary business records, and meet tax and accounting duties;
- protect our website, systems, and clients from abuse or fraud; and
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use contact-form information for unrelated marketing lists. We will not sell it.
Legal bases for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Pre-contract and contract. Processing your inquiry and performing an engagement you ask us to start.
- Legitimate interests. Securing our website, keeping basic traffic logs, and keeping business records, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation. Where we must retain information for tax, accounting, or other law.
Cookies
This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies. A hosting platform may set a strictly necessary technical cookie to deliver the site or to protect it from abuse. You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect whether the site loads correctly.
How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- our website host and email provider, so the site can run and so we can receive your message;
- professional advisers such as accountants or attorneys, when we need their help and they are bound to confidentiality;
- a payment processor, if you pay an invoice through one; and
- authorities, when the law requires it, or when we need to protect the rights, safety, and security of Media Zum, our clients, or others.
We do not allow those providers to use your information for their own marketing. We do not share personal information with data brokers.
We do not sell or share personal information
Media Zum does not sell personal information. We do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months. Because we do not sell or share, there is no separate opt-out of sale to turn on — this section is the notice of that practice.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry records for up to 24 months after our last communication, unless we start a project with you or a longer period is required for a contract, tax, accounting, or legal claim. Server logs are kept for the shorter period set by our host, typically measured in weeks or a few months, unless we need a specific log to investigate abuse. Project records are kept for the life of the engagement and for a reasonable archive period afterward so we can support the work and meet legal duties.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a professional services firm, including access limits on mail and project files. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please use a trusted channel when you send sensitive material, and avoid putting secrets in the public contact form.
International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. EEA, UK, and Swiss residents can contact their local supervisory authority.
California residents have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under the CPRA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
To exercise a right, email contact@mediazum.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We will verify your request using the email you used with us, and we will respond within 45 days, or sooner where the law that applies to you requires it. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may ask for proof of that authorization.
Categories of personal information we collect, as described by California law, are identifiers (such as name and email), commercial information (such as a budget range and, if we engage, billing records), internet activity (server logs), and professional information you include in a project description. We collect these from you and, for logs, automatically from your browser. We use and disclose them for the purposes described in this policy.
Children
Our website and services are directed to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Third-party sites
Our pages may link to maps or other sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before you send them information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will provide a more prominent notice where the law requires it.
